On Monday, October 26, 2026, Stephen Hicks of Oxford, GA, went to be with the Lord. He was 74 years old and lost a very short battle with stage 4 lung cancer.

He is survived by his wife Debbie; daughters Stephanie (Carlos) and her children (Sebastian and Emily), Katie (Keith) and their children (Ryleigh and Becca Jo), and Taylor (Jake) and their children (Brady and Brynlee); and stepsons Shannon (Betsy) and their children Keegan , Kade and Laney, and Travis (Ellie) and his children Kelsey and Avery.

Steve LOVED his grass and his hair- like seriously. We did NOT mess with this man's grass or his hair. He always carried a comb and Juicy Fruit gum in his pocket wherever he went. He was also known for his infamous Sam Elliott mustache. He loved the Braves and UGA Football (Go Dawgs!) He enjoyed being outside and just doing things. He loved to travel to the beach and the mountains.

He was born and raised in Stone Mountain, GA. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. His career was spent selling life insurance and managing other agents.

He had strong opinions and did not mind sharing them. He was stubborn but had a kind heart. He loved quietly but deeply. He was loved by many and will be terribly missed.

At his request, Stephen will be cremated, and there will be no formal funeral. If you would like to honor him, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
